Speech and Language Pathologist (Pediatric)
Medical Staffing Solutions, an established federal government contractor headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Speech and Language Pathologists for a brand new multi-disciplinary therapy practice opening March 2018 in Chesapeake, Virginia.
- Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an approved and accredited program
- Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be in the process of obtaining the CCC under the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). To treat children enrolled in Early Intervention, the therapist must complete certification with the Virginia Early Intervention Program.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Review the physician’s written prescription, diagnosis and past medical history Evaluate the child by patient or parent interview, observation, and diagnosis and prognostic testing. Establish short and long term goals based on evaluation results Formulate written report consisting of history and background information, tests administered and results, conclusions and recommendations, and treatment plan. Issue a copy and review the report with the child’s parent/guardian Re-evaluate as indicated Produce written reports including “Progress Report”, “Re-evaluation”, “Update”, as appropriate. Administer, score and interpret standardized tests. Engage parents in the child’s therapy program. Issue a written home program for carryover at home and update as the child progresses. Encourage the parent to demonstrate new aspects of the home program during the therapy session.
